General Questions
For questions about how to schedule, contacting us, parking, etc. please read our General FAQ and How it Works pages.
What is Nutritional IV therapy?
Nutritional IV therapy delivers high doses of amino acids, electrolytes, minerals, nutrients, fluid, and vitamins directly into the bloodstream through a patient's vein. This is the most effective and powerful way to deliver these nutrients to your body and brain.
When you take vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients by mouth, they must be metabolized by your liver and pass through your digestive system on the way to being absorbed. IV therapy bypasses your digestive system delivering vitamins and nutrients with a 100% absorption rate.
While IV Infusions are not meant to be a substitute for oral vitamins, they serve as a supplement or alternative solution to quickly rehydrate and replenish nutrients, restoring the body to peak balance.
Are IVs and injections safe?
Yes, they certainly are! Our IV therapy specialists are registered nurses who are well-trained with years of experience administering IV treatments.
Our wellness IVs contain only natural constituents such as electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and anti-oxidants sourced from FDA approved facilities. Our recovery IVs contain medications tailored to combat symptoms from common maladies.
It should be noted that all medical therapies carry a risk, therefore it is important for the patient to understand the risks, benefits and alternatives, and to receive therapies only from certified medical personnel.
Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes. You will need to book your appointment online. NO WALK INS!
If this is your first treatment or if any of your medical history has changed, you will need to complete our medical and treatment consent form before your appointment.
Do I have to get a blood test before my appointment?
A blood test is not required but is suggested if you would like to find out exactly which nutrients you need to achieve optimal health. You can find a list of our comprehensive blood panels here.
Note that we do not make any medical diagnoses and our therapies are not intended to treat any medical condition. Our therapies are designed to restore balance to your body and help you maintain wellness.
How often can I get an IV or booster shot?
Everyone has different needs and requirement and this will depend on the desired effect. Depending on the purpose for the IV or booster shot, patients will get treatments twice a week, weekly, biweekly, or monthly.
Most people will benefit from treatments spaced about two weeks apart once their nutrient levels become stabilized. This is because you should expect your nutrient levels to remain elevated for between two to three weeks after each treatment.
We recommend getting an IV when you feel the need to get better and get back to your normal, balanced self.
Can I get an IV Therapy and a booster injection at the same appointment?
Yes, and this is the ideal recommendation. IV nutrients and hydration are very effective at rapidly replenishing any deficiencies and helping the body establish balance. The booster shots then act as a reservoir for continuous release of nutrients, essentially prolonging the effects.
What happens during my IV appointment?
When you arrive for your infusion, we'll greet you, show you around and then bring you to the IV room. Once you are seated, you'll have a brief consultation with your practitioner to discuss your needs and ensure there is nothing in your medical history that would make an IV infusion inadvisable.
We understand that some people get nervous around needles, and some people have a lower tolerance for pain. If that's you, close your eyes and take some deep breaths to help release any nervous tension. Our nurses have been doing infusions for years and our needles are small to help reduce any pain to a slight pinch!
After your IV is inserted, we'll walk you to your recliner chair in the IV drip room where you’ll remain seated while reading a book, scrolling through emails, or just sitting back for a little relaxation.
How long will my IV therapy take?
Most IV appointments take about an hour. The first 15 to 20 minutes will be spent with the nurse and another 30 to 45 minutes during treatment. If you've added on more fluid, it could take an additional 30 minutes or so.
NAD+ IVs take from 2 to 4 hours. Sit back and relax. Rest your eyes, read a book or listen to music, check your phone or keep up with emails on your laptop—whatever you prefer. This time is yours so enjoy!
When will I feel the effects?
Everybody is different. Depending on your current health, you may feel invigorated almost immediately as the IV fluids replenish hydration and electrolytes. As a general rule, the more deficient and unbalanced your system is, the greater and more immediate an effect you will feel.
Even if you don't “feel” noticeable effects immediately or over the next few days, you're still reaping the benefits. IV therapies are the clinical gold standard in “flushing” out the body of unwanted toxins and helping achieve balance in the body.
What should I do before my IV appointment?
Please read our IV care instructions for what to do before and after your IV.
Make sure you are well hydrated - drink two to four 8 oz glasses of water to make it easier to find a vein. Eat so you don't have low blood sugar or get nauseous. Avoid blood thinners, aspirin and NSAIDs the day before, if possible, as they can cause you to bruise easily.
What should I bring to my IV appointment?
Bring along a book, music, laptop, or phone. Depending on the drip and fluid you've selected, your IV could take 30 minutes to more than an hour. NAD+ IVs take from 2 to 4 hours.
Note: Due to COVID-19, we are not able to provide blankets and pillows. If you have a tendency to get cold or plan to take a nap, you might want to bring these along.
Sit back and relax. Rest your eyes, read a book or listen to music, knit, crochet, or do a crossword puzzle, check your phone or keep up with emails on your laptop—whatever you prefer. This time is yours so enjoy!
PLEASE DO NOT TALK ON YOUR CELL PHONE Place your phone on vibrate mode or turn it off. This is not a time for talking on the phone unless you have an OK from the infusion staff.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes. No need to dress up for your IV! We recommend a short sleeve shirt or sleeves that can be rolled up and comfy pants and socks. If you're coming before or after work or a strenuous workout, wear whatever you have on! Just make sure we can roll up your sleeves above the elbow.
What do I do after I get home?
A dressing will be placed in the area where your infusion was done. This dressing should be kept in place for at least 30 minutes or longer. If you are on a blood thinner, leave the dressing in place longer to avoid any bleeding.
Do you take insurance or accept HSA and FSA cards?
We do not take insurance but can provide a receipt for your services that you can submit directly to your insurance.
The good news is that IV Hydration is eligible for FSA. Most FSA and HSA plans qualify as a form of payment for your IV treatments. If you have a debit card for your FSA or HSA plan, we can usually charge it directly. FSA balances do not roll over into the next year, so use it or lose it!
What is RapidTestMe's cancellation policy?
We provide a full refund if you cancel your appointment more than 24 hours in advance of your appointment. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the service fee. Please cancel as far in advance as possible to allow time for other customers to take your spot.
You can cancel an appointment from your appointment confirmation page or from a button in your confirmation email. If you'd like to reschedule for a different date and transfer over any payments you've made, you should opt for the Rescheduling option instead.
